This is so, so cringey.
He is clearly one of the most polarising people on the planet right now, so we're not quite sure what sort of reception Elon Musk expected while making an appearance in front of a crowd of 18,000 at a comedy gig.
The show was a phone-free 'Yondr' gig, which meant that people had to put their phones in a pouch that they could not use for the duration - but it seems that someone snuck in a phone and managed to capture the cringeworthy interaction. The audience proceeded to break into a chorus of cheers and boos, leaving Musk standing awkward and unsure, while the comedian joked:"Cheers and boos, I see. Elon, it sounds like some of the people you fired are in the audience."
However, any time that the Tesla boss attempted to speak, he was stopped by the crowd. Clearly frustrated, he asked Chappelle “Dave, what should I say?", to which the comedian responded"Don’t say nothing. It’ll only spoil the moment. Do you hear that sound, Elon? That’s the sound of pending civil unrest. I can’t wait to see what store you decimate next, motherfucker." Frustrated, he then told the crowd"You shut the fuck up, with your boos.
