Employees at another San Antonio Starbucks store are seeking to unionize
In a letter to Starbucks leadership, employees at the company’s store in downtown San Antonio said they plan to form a union.Employees at a second Starbucks location in San Antonio are seeking to unionize.
Starbucks Workers United, a union representing Buffalo, N.Y. employees and helping other stores organize, sharedthat the employees sent to President and CEO Kevin Johnson about their plan to form a union. They cited “insufficient staffing,” “unattainable expectations,” “abuse from uncaring customers” and not feeling “heard by those with the power to make pivotal decisions.”Employees at the Loop 410 and Vance Jackson Road storeSince then, workers at two Starbucks locations in Austin along with the downtown San Antonio store have also petitioned for an election, according to the NLRB’s website.
