The former Fine Gael leader said he was feeling “confident” on Wednesday morning as he attended his final meeting after roughly 650 of them
It was the “end of an era” on Wednesday as Taoiseach Leo Varadkar attended his final Cabinet meeting.
“When Leo came in through the door of the Sycamore Room, I was very conscious that this was the last time he would probably walk into that room as Taoiseach. "We thanked the Taoiseach briefly. He's not a sentimental or emotional kind of man. So we thanked him and we’ll all, I hope, get the opportunity to do something with him before he finishes in a fortnight’s time.”
Mr Harris met with fellow coalition leaders Tánaiste Micheál Martin and Green Party leader Eamon Ryan this week.
