England have been disqualified and stripped of the gold medal they won in the women’s 4x400m relay final at the Commonwealth Games after officials spotted a lane violation.
England thought they had produced one of the most stunning moments of the Games before losing their victory.
It had been a superb performance from all four women, but was eventually undone post-race when Canada were awarded victory, while Jamaica and Scotland were promoted to the silver and gold medal positions respectively.
