Manchester City footballer Khiara Keating appeared in Manchester and Salford magistrates court accused of being in possession of the Class C drug nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas
An England Lioness has pleaded not guilty to possessing a quantity of nitrous oxide known as ‘hippy crack’.
The court was told the pair were innocent and the canisters had been used by friends who’d abused their trust by having a party at Khiara's house while she was away. The officers then discovered some canisters in the car, the court heard. Mr Mirza told the court that Nicola Keating arrived at the scene and told them that the canisters belonged to her but the police did not accept that.
Mr Mirza said that Nicola Keating was in the process of disposing of the items and the footballer wasn't using them. He said her mum attempted to “dispose of the items” and put them in Khiara's Mercedes car.
