The Republic of Ireland international's daughter Willow Ivy was diagnosed as autistic four years ago, which led to him getting an autism spectrum disorder assessment after he noticed similar traits in himself.
She wrote: "I feel so proud of James and Willow-Ivy. Breaking down barriers and igniting a conversation was the goal." Erin and James met in their hometown of Derry back in 2010, they became engaged three years later in 2013, welcomed their first child Allie May, and then married in 2016. “As you all know, my daughter Willow-Ivy is autistic,” he said. “The last four years have been life changing in the most amazing way but also very difficult at times as her daddy watching her overcome so many obstacles in her life and learning how to manage the challenges she faces on a daily basis.
