Darragh Canavan was substituted after 22 minutes at GAA Headquarters following a blow to the head. He was temporarily replaced by Mark Kavanagh as he underwent a head-injury assessment, but it was clear his race was run and his All-Ireland final was over. “Both of the boys aren’t great, unfortunately. They are both going to head to hospital for further checks,” said McGinley.
“I’m not sure when he got hit, but unfortunately he is well dazed and that as well. The two boys will go and, please God they’ll come round – I’m sure they will. Yeah, that’s part of it. It didn’t impact on anything.
