Ange Postecoglou slams Timo Werner's 'unacceptable' performance for Tottenham against Rangers in the Europa League
'What he produced wasn't acceptable'Ange Postecoglou has given a scathing review of Timo Werner's performance against Rangers tonight. Werner struggled in the first half, losing possession 16 times in total and only completing 18 of his 26 pass attempts.He was substituted at half time by his manager and now Postecoglou has let loose on the winger post-match."He wasn't playing anywhere near the levels he can," the Spurs boss said.
"In the moment we're in now, I need everyone to be at least going out there and giving the best they can."What he produced wasn't acceptable."When asked what may be the reason behind Werner's form, Postecoglou replied: "I don’t really know. "It’s not really of great concern. We need everybody including him to be contributing."Because we don’t have the depth to leave people out if they’re performing poorly. We need them to play their part.
