Conor's mum sadly passed away from a brain tumour when she was 56

The band’s singer Conor O'Donohoe has said it means everything to the group to be able to represent the country at the iconic event, making history as the first band to represent Ireland at the annual event in four decades.

Conor’s mum sadly passed away as a result of a brain tumour in 2011. She was just 56 and Conor was only 17-years-old. “I lose everything, so my girlfriend got me a satchel and this week I discovered the label still inside; the bag was called Anthony’. That may sound like a small thing but to me it means a lot. If I ever had a performance, Mom would always pray to St Anthony.

“I really felt her, thinking about my mom and how much she loved everyone doing the Eurovision just felt comfortable just to be themselves.”
