Euston station warning for Manchester rail passengers planning a Bank Holiday weekend in London
Manchester rail passengers planning a Bank Holiday trip to London are being warned of major disruption at Euston station. Engineering works are set to add several hours to the journey times of passengers travelling from Greater Manchester and the North West.
A search on the Avanti West Coast website for a Manchester Piccadilly to London service on Sunday, April 30, shows a journey time of 4hrs 32mins, including a change at Banbury, with trains arriving at London Marylebone. Jake Kelly, Network Rail’s system operator director, said: "The majority of the rail network will be open as usual for passengers travelling over the bank holiday weekend, but we do have some vital upgrade work taking place to improve journeys in some areas, so please check before you travel, either with your train operator or using National Rail Enquiries.
