With movement of the Bolt Creek Fire slowing over the past 48 hours, the King County Sheriff’s Office announced evacuation level changes for several areas of King and Snohomish counties on Saturday afternoon. As of 2 p.m., Baring, Grotto and the area along Highway 2 east to the Money Creek tunnel are under a Level 2 evacuation notice — meaning to be ready to leave at a moment’s notice. These areas were formerly under Level 3, meaning leave now.

The area from the west side of the Money Creek tunnel to milepost 48 and Beckler River Road is under a Level 3 evacuation notice. Index and Skykomish remain under Level 1 evacuation notices, meaning residents should be aware of fire danger and start preparing to leave.
