The Irish teenager created two pieces of history on Saturday afternoon.
Evan Ferguson etched his name into the Premier League history books alongside a number of legends on Saturday.
The Irish star bagged the first hat-trick of his professional career as Brighton beat Newcastle 3-1 at the Amex this evening. With that hat-trick, Ferguson became only the fourth player in history to score a Premier League hat-trick aged 18 or younger. The other stars to match this feat are Chris Bart-Williams, Robbie Fowler, and Michael Owen who remarkably scored three hat-tricks before turning 19.
The only other non-English player to do that is Cesc Fabregas. The Spaniard famously starred for Arsenal as a teenager in the early 2000's. Ferguson's stunning form is good news for Republic of Ireland manager Stephen Kenny ahead of their Euro 2024 qualifiers with France and Netherlands next week.
