Ahead of Budget 2025, every household in Ireland is set to receive a one-time energy credit worth €250 before Christmas. While smaller than previous years' credits, this measure aims to provide financial relief amid continuing high energy prices.
Every household is set to receive an energy credit before Christmas ahead of Budget 2025 being unveiled in less than two weeks.
The credit doesn't quite match the €450 energy credit paid out in three instalments in Budget 2024 or the €600 credit paid in similar fashion during Budget 2023, but it will be welcome nonetheless.READ MORE: Budget 2025: Irish pensioners set to receive historic €20 weekly increase "We have agreed there will be a cost of living package as part of Budget 2025. We've seen inflation moderate to about just over one per cent but there are still high prices in our economy particularly in energy," Chambers said.
He noted: "But I think it is important to support workers and families through the winter period and we'll calibrate the final amount and nature of the cost of living package in the next two weeks."
