Every Leeds mobile speed camera police location this week on 30mph, 40mph and 50mph roads
Cameras are usually used in areas with a high number of accidents, where people fail to comply with speed limits or to counter antisocial speeding. The aim is to reduce deaths and serious injuries on Leeds roads by reducing the level and severity of speeding and red light offences.
Mobile speed enforcement, which is provided by West Yorkshire Police on behalf of West Yorkshire Casualty Prevention Partnership, also aims to improve the driving standards through education and enforcement. Many mobile speed cameras are installed at "the worst casualty hotspots".
"Roads where cameras are present consistently see collision reduction rates that are better than the rest of the road network." Below is a list of locations which were accurate at the time of publication, but are subject to change.
