We've pinpointed where they are
Mobile speed cameras have been set up across Leeds and Wakefield in a bid to slow down drivers and hopefully reduce accidents.
As a speed camera vehicle comes into view, it can be a worrying moment as you try to work out whether you had accidentally edged over the speed limit. The cameras are set up by West Yorkshire Police on behalf of the West Yorkshire Casualty Prevention Partnership, in "known casualty zones" to try to keep speeds down on dangerous roads.
The equipment uses a laser which operates in different weather conditions to determine speeds. According to the West Yorkshire Casualty Prevention Partnership, enforcement can be expected on any of these roads at any time seven days a week. But the key purpose of a mobile enforcement is to reduce collisions. We have broken down where all the mobile speed camera locations are this week in Leeds and Wakefield.
