McCrea killed his estranged wife Dolores and then disposed of her body the next day in a massive bonfire of tyres
Gary McCrea has served almost 20 years for the horrific murder of his estranged wife Dolores, 39, in January, 2004.
McCrea was given a life sentence after being found guilty by the jury and he subsequently lost his appeal. But even though he has been in prison for over two decades, there are no plans to set him free any time soon. A prison source said: "He may be one of the longest serving life prisoners in the country but he will not be getting out for a good while yet. He could be here for another four or five years. What he did was horrendous and caused great shock and upset to his family and the local community. He won't be enjoying any freedom for a while yet."
