The 2023 Solheim Cup will be played from Sept. 22-24 at Finca Cortesin in Andalucia, Spain.

Ewing, Knight and Yin came as little surprise as captain’s picks. Lewis selected the three highest-ranked Americans in the Women’s World Golf Rankings who didn’t qualify otherwise. Not a lot of controversy here. The United States will again be anchored by a top-heavy lineup at the Solheim Cup. The question is, can the Americans make it count this time? The roster is headlined by Vu, Korda and Corpuz, the Nos.

The key to American success, especially abroad, could be a veteran heart of the lineup that’s been in good form of late. Khang, a returnee from 2019 and 2021, is trending, coming off her first LPGA tournament in 191 career starts after capturing the CPKC Women’s Open on Sunday. Ewing, another two-time Solheim player, posted all four of her 2023 top 10s in the past 10 weeks.

Kupcho meanwhile, after winning three times in 2022, including the Chevron Championship and a team competition at the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational , has only two top 10s and five missed cuts in 16 appearances in 2023. She went 2-1-1 in her lone Solheim appearance in 2021.Vu, the No. 1-ranked player in the world, has gone from relative unknown to team headliner. The 25-year-old was ranked 273rd in the world when the 2021 Solheim was held and is now a two-time major winner.

Maguire went 4-0-1 in 2021, producing 4.5 points that almost single-handedly matched the total points produced by Thompson , Nelly Korda , Jessica Korda and Kang . In Toldeo, then-American captain Pat Hurst said of Maguire: “She’s the one we’re going to have to fear for a long time.”
