Derry City joined the League of Ireland in 1985, 13 years after it left the Irish League.
Former Derry City manager Declan Devine has revealed his desire to see the FAI Cup finalists return to the Irish League - 52 years after it was forced to withdraw on security grounds.

Another wish for Devine is the return of a cross-border competition such as the Setanta Sports Cup, which ended in 2014.
