The 35-year-old has called time on his career after two-and-a-half decades
Former Irish League midfielder Ryan Harpur has urged any footballer to have "no regrets" as he announced his retirement from the game.
He said on social media: "I knew this day was always going to come, I just never realised how fast it would come ….. play every game as if it was your last. Enjoy every moment no matter what the level. Harpur says he had to deal with rejection at a young age after making the move to Everton as a young teenager, but he has always bided by the sage advice handed down to him by his father.
Harpur also had special praise for Dungannon Swifts, where he spent the longest part of his career. It is also the club he won the League Cup with back in 2019.
