Frank L Silva, who also goes by the name ‘De Silva’, has been a well-known figure within American white supremacist circles since the 1980s.
A former Grand Dragon of the Ku Klux Klan is reportedly acting as a mentor to “very extreme” Irish anti-immigration activists.
“To be clear, these aren’t just the people who oppose the building of a centre in a certain area,” he said. “I’ve got access to several recordings and transcripts of meetings and you can hear De Silva offering advice based on his own struggles with authorities in the States in the 1980s,” Mr Gallagher said.
