Luca Brecel claimed some people thought his new ambition to compete in an Ironman event was 'a joke', but insisted he was serious about his new ambition to take part in the gruelling race in 2028
Former world snooker champion Luca Brecel has revealed he is "really serious" about racing in an Ironman Triathlon event as he aims to compete in the gruelling race by 2028.
'The Belgian Bullet' said some people thought his new ambition was "a joke" but the 29-year-old insisted he was serious about competing as he explained why he had chosen Majorca as a training base. Brecel's biggest achievement of his career with his memorable win over Mark Selby last year to become world champion, but he said he would treasure an Ironman medal more highly than his snooker championship trophy.
