August is nearly over, but that doesn’t mean that the heavy rain and showers will be permanent as it is expected that the weeks will become drier with short temperatures spikes

Wednesday, 30 August Largely dry this morning with bright spells, light westerly breezes and isolated showers. It will turn cloudier during the day bringing patchy rain this afternoon to the west and southwest. Rain will spread across much of Connacht and Munster during this evening as southerly winds freshen in the southwest. Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees.
Thursday, 31 August Rain across much of Leinster and Ulster at first tomorrow, slowly clearing northeastwards through the morning, but lingering across the northeast into the afternoon. Sunny spells and showers elsewhere will follow. Light to moderate winds, fresh for a time on eastern coasts, and variable in direction. Feeling more humid with highest temperatures of 17 to 21 degrees, cooler in the northeast.
Friday, 1 August Some lingering fog patches at first on Friday. Quite widespread showers will develop, with heavy falls in places. There will be dry and bright intervals too. Highest temperatures of 18 to 20 degrees with little wind.
