Power Book IV: Force star confirms fan theory over JP Gibbs' son D-Mac
"And it's so well-played in so many subtle ways by Lucien Cambric, who plays D-Mac. There is a look – I think it was episode 4 – when him and I… when JP and D-Mac come face to face. There's just this look that Lucien gives as D-Mac is looking at his father, and just the hurt of there being no recognition of who he is.
"'I'm standing before my father, and he does not even recognise me.' And that look, I think, just spoke volumes. It's such a painful moment as the audience, because your son is [in] front of you. He's right here. He doesn't even know it." Describing how shocking it was as a viewer that JP didn't recognise his own son, Fleming III adds:"Isn't that the case a lot of times in life? What you're looking for is right in front of you."
