Vera Pauw could be replaced by the man she once replaced, as the manager of one of the World Cup's surprise packages expresses an interest in the Ireland job.
Vera Pauw could be replaced in the Ireland hotseat by the man whose job she took for her ill-fated spell at Houston Dash.
Nigeria faced Vera Pauw’s Ireland in their final Group B game, on their way to a shock place in the knockouts, and impressed in a scoreless draw in Brisbane’s Lang Park. And they came agonisingly close to eliminating England in the last-16, before losing 4-2 on penalties. The 66-year-old was replaced at the Dash in 2018 by Vera Pauw, whose Ireland reign ended at the conclusion of an FAI board meeting late on Tuesday night.
However, he has yet to be informed officially whether or not they want him to lead the country into their two-legged Olympic qualifier against Ethiopia in October.
