Expansion soccer team selects former JU coach for leadership position
The former coach of Jacksonville University’s men’s soccer program was picked for a business and technical role by the group that wants to bring a United Soccer League franchise to the city.
Mauricio Ruiz, who was also an assistant at the University of Central Florida, joined the organization in a business development role. According to a release, he will"advise and support the organization’s continuing soccer operations efforts in a technical capacity.""Uniting our soccer landscape will be a key step to helping us accomplish our long-term goals to educate, develop and showcase our area's talent on a top stage," Ruiz said in the release.
