President Joe Biden says the federal government will buy half a billion COVID-19 rapid test kits and distribute them free of charge to people to use at home.

But Psaki noted that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved several different brands of rapid home tests.“The unvaccinated are responsible for their own choices,” President Joe Biden said on Tuesday. “Those choices have been fueled by cable TV and social media. These companies and personalities are making money by peddling lies and misinformation that can kill their own customers and own supporters. It’s wrong. It’s immoral.
But demand for test kits soared as the holidays neared and people grew eager to test themselves and their families before traveling, and as the easily transmissible omicron variant spread rapidly in just a few weeks to become dominant strain in the U.S.
