Emergency crews remain at the scene
St Enoch Square's Christmas market has been cordoned off by police after an explosion this morning, with two people taken to hospital.
Police, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and the Scottish Ambulance Service are currently in attendance and two people have been rushed to a Glasgow hospital as a result. It is unclear so far if there have been any other injuries.An eyewitness told Glasgow Live: "It was one of the shipping containers at the Chinese foodstall. The doors blew open on it. It was full of gas bottles so must have been leaking gas into the container and blew.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of an explosion involving a gas canister at St Enoch Square in Glasgow around 11am on Monday, 5 December.
