An extra £17m will be put on the table in a bid to end strike action in Scotland’s schools, the Record has learned.

Tens of thousands of children missed lessons this week after school staff in Glasgow, Inverclyde, Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire walked out in a row over pay. The Unite and GMB unions accepted the most recent offer, but Mark Ferguson of Unison Scotland said his union are looking for “an inflation-proofed offer”.
