A glass dome has been installed and work will now begin on transforming the interior
More than 140 glass panels have been fitted since December to form the new roof at Motherwell station, which is in the midst of a refurbishment.
Customers will have to access the concourse through the new main entrance to the station, via a pathway that will move nightly while the work is going on within the building.John MacDonald, ScotRail's senior project manager, said: “It’s great to see the progress made on Motherwell station’s redevelopment.
The station revamp is part of an ongoing effort by North Lanarkshire Council to make improvements outside the station.
