Ayumu Iwasa won F2's season-closing feature race in Abu Dhabi, as Logan Sargeant secured enough superlicense points he needs to graduate to F1 with Williams. Full racereport and results:
The Japanese DAMS driver took pole on Friday before charging to victory ahead of the 2022 champion in Sunday’s feature race.
Drugovich’s second-place finish secured MP Motorsport the teams’ title, with Carlin finishing second courtesy of Liam Lawson’s third-place result. The yellow flags were waved briefly on the opening lap after MP’s Clement Novalak went off at Turn 9, with Ralph Boschung spinning after contact with Juan Manuel Correa, making his return to F2 with Van Amersfoort Racing.
Iwasa then pitted from the lead, with Pourchaire joining him to take the medium compound Pirelli before the Frenchman emerged behind Lawson and Hauger despite a battle with the Norwegian driver. Pourchaire made a failed attempt to pass Hauger at Turn 6 several laps later, with further attempts at Turn 9 before he finally made it past on lap 22 as the Prema driver ran wide.
