Fabian Schar stunned by late drama as Switzerland throw away victory NUFC
Fabian Schar had sat out Friday’s close escape from embarrassment, when Switzerland managed only a 2-1 win against Andorra.
Chance after chance was wasted to send the Swiss three or more up and then on 89 minutes a shock break from Romania ended with the ball in the Switzerland net via a goal for Mihaila. Switzerland will rue all those missed chances, having had seventeen shots to Romania’s six, plus the home side having 73% possession.
Rodrygo scoring a second three minutes later before Guinea pulled one back just before the break. Militao added a third just after half-time, with Vinicius Junior scoring a penalty two minutes from time.
