Just hours after the Reds secured their Premier League status speculation about their head coach's situation begun
Fabrizio Romano has cast doubt over Nuno Espirito Santo ’s future as Nottingham Forest head coach. The transfer guru claimed on his X, formerly Twitter, account that Nuno is set for talks with the club he has just kept in the Premier League.
Victory over Burnley on Sunday, in the final game of the season, ensured the Reds finished six points clear of the drop zone – even having lost four points for Profitability & Sustainability Rules breaches.READ MORE: Anthony Elanga sparks MGW transfer plea after Forest message Scenes at the end of the game at Turf Moor, when Nuno and his players were serenaded by a raucous away end, pointed to a tricky course well navigated and the hope of more stability and success for the future.
However, Romano suggested that the former Wolves and Tottenham boss might not see out the remaining two years of his contract. Romano wrote: “Understand Nuno Espirito Santo's future at Nottingham Forest is still open after keeping #NFFC in Premier League. Portuguese manager will discuss with the club soon in order to decide next steps, but there's a chance he could leave Forest.”
Nuno succeeded Steve Cooper in December and has since compiled a 26.7% win ratio in all competitions. However, he has had to deal with a series of off-field issues that have tested Forest’s Premier League status.
