Fair City's Christmas Day brings shock reunions and unexpected twists. Damien Halpin returns to Carrigstown, seeking forgiveness from Tyler Munroe for Laura's death. Meanwhile, Dean Dowling and Mairead Casey face the consequences of Tyler's torment.
Mairead Casey is irritated to see Tyler Munroe on Christmas morning on Fair City . Dean Dowling reveals the theme for his and Mairead’s “anti- Christmas ” is the Mexican Day of the Dead. Dean and Mairead are shocked when Damien Halpin arrives back unannounced. Mairead realises they need to keep Damien away from Tyler. Mairead is forced to reveal to Damien that Tyler is in town but lies that he has only just shown up.
Dean, played by Michael Sheehan, inadvertently reveals to Damien that Tyler has been tormenting Mairead. Tyler is thrown when Damien asks for his forgiveness. At peace, Damien informs Tyler that he forgives him for killing his sister Laura, but vows to never give up seeking justice. Tyler is bitter to realise he no longer holds any power over Damien. Damien reveals that he has put in the hard work during his time in therapy, and he and Mairead agree that he doesn’t need to return to the clinic. Damien and Mairead believe their troubles are behind them, unaware that Tyler is watching them, plotting revenge. What is going to happen next? Elsewhere in Carrigstown, Dean finds a drunk James Rafferty slumped in Emma’s front garden. Not wanting James to ruin her party, Emma banishes him to his bedroom. A young woman, Daisy, arrives at Emma’s party claiming to be James’ date. James remembers he met Daisy at the club the night before. Tommy Dillon mistakenly believes that James has hired Daisy for the night. Daisy, played by Kayleigh Trappe, charms Emma, but Tommy and Rafferty are convinced she is an escort. Dean seeks refuge at Leo’s for the night. Carol Foley is charmed when J.J. drops a bottle of champagne on her doorstep. Sharon gets Carol glammed up for Emma’s part
