Fair City photographer breaks silence on RTE tender backlash

The broadcaster has since announced that the tender for the job - listed at €60,000 a year - has been suspended following backlash over the cost as it was highlighted at the Oireachtas media hearing with senior RTÉ executives hearing last Wednesday.

Fair City’s photographer said she has ‘no idea’ where her future lies with RTE and told how she has been keeping up to date with the media storm over her job through newspapers.

Basically anything that I know after the Oireachtas meeting, I am finding out from the papers,” she added. Beta was speaking after penning an open letter to Fine Gael Senator Micheál Carrigy responding to his comments about the skill required for the job and the salary attached. It was was originally brought up at the meeting as 80,000 euro per year, before being corrected to 60,000 per annum.
