Fair City and Coronation Street actress Beverley Callard has given her fans and followers an update in relation to her breast cancer treatment - and it's good newsstar was diagnosed with breast cancer back in February of this year.
She has since undergone the removal of three lymph nodes as well as ten rounds of radiotherapy. While the disease was detected in its early stages, it's still been a hard journey for Beverley, who has been documenting the toll treatment has taken on her Instagram account.
"I've done it," Beverley said with a laugh on her most recent video. "Just finished my last radiotherapy session, fingers crossed. That was number 10 for me and lots of people have to have lots more, I know that.
"But for now, that's finished. So hopefully, I don't know for sure, but hopefully I won't need anymore.
" Beverley's husband, who was taking the video, can be heard behind the camera saying, "Positive thinking darling,'" which Beverley agreed with. "To be honest, I feel a bit numb. Yesterday, I really struggled but today I've been fine. Now, I've got to see the professor again in two months, and then I'll know a lot more.
And mammograms and oncologists and all that. But radiotherapy is finished for now, so I am really thrilled. Beverley explained that she wasn't going to celebrate that night as she was too tired and couldn't be bothered.
"I'm going to put scruffy clothes on and just sit and watch TV with a cup of tea," she said. Fans and friends alike responded to the good news with joy. Singer Imelda May responded with a series of clapping hands emojis, while Loose Women star Denise Welch commented: "Woohoo!!!!
""I am so happy for you Beverley, you are always so positive and caring towards others going through their own cancer journey. Enjoy your cuppa and have a lovely weekend. Jon is incredible too btw," added another fan.
