Tonight's Fair City saw an explosion take place at Rafferty's site after Anto set it on fire so Hayley could claim insurance - but he was unaware a party was taking place inside
But he was totally unaware that Ruby Mullen's secret birthday party was taking place - and now the youngster's life might hang in the balance. It all kicked off when Hayley rejected Anto’s concern over the Rafferty site.
Later on, Anto was euphoric when he won big on a gambling app, but Hayley felt dejected when the bank refused her loan which would have covered Damien's costs and saved the site. She quickly turned her attention to her birthday party, secretly taking place on the abandoned site, but Alex warned her that Gwen was using her to make money flogging cheap drinks.Mondo learned from Babs that her marriage is over but failed to secure her silence on the affair. Victor grew irritated by Mondo’s obsession to preserve his own public image and, after being frozen out of Babs' birthday plans for Ruby, he decided to out his affair with Kira.Alex was angry when gate crashers showed up to the party, but Gwen let them in behind his back anyway. Ruby felt sick after taking a pill, so Gwen ordered her to get some fresh air. Alex panicked as more partygoers arrived and Gwen told him that Ruby has taken drugs. Distraught for Hayley's financial woes, Anto set fire to the site for the insurance money and left her a voicemail admitting what he has done. But Anto didn't know about the party and that he had just set fire to a building which many young people were in. Ruby passed out alone in a storeroom as the fire began to take hold.
