Gardai said Terence, 20, died as a result of an attempted suicide attempt
The family of a man who died after being held in custody will protest outside the garda station where he was found unresponsive 18 years ago.
Terence’s sister Orlagh said they had endured “18 years of hurt, 18 years of pain, 18 years of unanswered questions”. , and an ombudsman investigation vindicated officers’ handling of the arrest and detention.Terence’s brother Larry, who spearheaded the campaign, died of cancer three years ago. “We have campaigned for an independent public inquiry into the suspicious circumstances surrounding Terence’s death, and still to this day 18 years on we have had no justice.”
