The family of John George, a 37-year-old from Belfast, who went missing in Spain while on holiday, are facing a nightmare after the discovery of a body. Spanish police believe the body to be that of Mr George. A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the case.
The family of a missing Belfast man in Spain are facing a nightmare after the discovery of a body. John George, 37, a father of two from west Belfast , also known as John Hardy, went missing while on holiday in Alicante. He last contacted his family on December 14th and was reported missing four days later after failing to board his flight home to Northern Ireland. Spanish police have been given another 72 hours to question a 32-year-old man arrested earlier this week.
Mr George's family, along with up to 50 friends and relatives from Northern Ireland, had been involved in a search operation. Spanish police informed Mr George's father, Billy, on Tuesday evening that they believed they had found his son's body. Mr George said getting his son's body home is now his priority. The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said they have been assisting their Spanish counterparts with the investigation and had issued appeals for information after Mr George was reported missing
