Galleny Force Waterfall is in the most idyllic setting and resembles a scene from a fairy tale
Whatever the weather, walking in the Lake District is beautiful. Come rain or shine, the county is a stunning place to visit and live.Although this place is beautiful all year round, it’s best to visit in the summer when you can swim in one of the pools. Galleny Force is a small, well-hidden Borrowdale waterfall with plunge pools in that part of the Stonethwaite Beck known as the Fairy Glen.
As you can probably guess, our walk of the week is Galleny Force Waterfalls. Once you're done, you can relax in a traditional, atmospheric, family-run, dog-friendly pub. If you’re a walker, climber, canoeist, or someone who simply likes riding around the lakes in the car, The Swinside Inn is the place for you. With plenty of parking, and immediate access to numerous easy, scenic, and low-level walks, as well as more adventurous climbing routes.
