Liverpool Feds are the subject of a new documentary that shines a light on life in the third tier of the women's game

On August 16, England's Lionesses triumphed over Australia to book their place in the Women's World Cup Final.

Founded by students at Liverpool Hope University in 1990, Feds have spent the past three decades climbing the football pyramid. A stellar 21/22 league campaign - in which they lost only one game - saw Leanne Duffy's side win promotion to the Women's National League Northern Premier Division; the highest level they have ever competed at.

Moore's motivation behind the project stemmed from a desire to shine a light on the reality of the women's game away from the glare of the Lionesses and the Women's Super League. While investment continues to flood in at the elite level of the game, those teams further down the pyramid face an uphill battle to keep their heads above water.

"It’s massive for our league to get more coverage and help grow support. It spirals from there and I think a little bit of funding would go a long way. “The overall feeling is that I’m really proud of what we achieved last season," she said. "Survival was the aim. I don’t think we went into it knowing what to expect.
