Archie Gray has become a first-team regular at Leeds United this season and Daniel Farke was asked about the academy graduate ahead of the clash with Stoke City
Daniel Farke believes Archie Gray's versatility adds 'great value' to his Leeds United squad but is not aiming to find the 'perfect position' for the academy graduate. The England youth international has starred at both full-back and in midfield after becoming a first-team regular at Elland Road this term.
Gray has already made 12 Championship appearances for the Whites this season, 10 of which have been in the starting eleven. Concerns have recently been raised over managing the teenager's minutes, with a recent international break with England under-19s seeing the midfielder play five full matches in just 13 days.
Asked about Gray's versatility and these concerns over his playing time, Farke told reporters: "First of all, we are not here just to make sure we develop Archie in a perfect position. Although we love Archie and want to develop him and I have a reputation perhaps to bring some young players through and bring them on to another level, our main target is that we as Leeds United want to be successful.
"I am not willing to rest Archie in order to have him fit for some under-19 games on international duty. He is paid for his job here, and we want him to develop good performances and as long as he delivers good performances, we are all happy.
