Andy Farrell's men lost by a score of 28-24 to the All Blacks at the Stade de France on Saturday night as their World Cup campaign ended in heartbreak
Stephen Ferris and Jerry Flannery believe Ireland's Rugby World Cup defeat to New Zealand "feels different" to other quarter-final losses at the tournament.Former internationals Ferris and Flannery discussed the match on RTE ahead of Sunday's quarter-finals, which saw England beat Fiji and South Africa defeat France to join the All Blacks and Argentina in the last four.Ferris said: "It feels different.
"I think that is why people are so, so disappointed, because the expectations were so high. I’m sure the players feel a lot more disappointed than we do." Jamie Heaslip, who was also on punditry duty for RTE, stated that the current Ireland team is the best we've ever had.
