It comes as Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald earlier told her parliamentary party meeting that it would be "quite a challenge" for Fianna Fáil to sign up to a government of change, but there is an obligation to act urgently. Sligo-Leitrim TD Marc MacSharry said he anticipated there would be "diverse views" on the topic, but the party would arrive at a consensus position.This is the first time the parliamentary party has met since the General Election, which saw its number of Dáil seats reduced from 44 to 38.
