Final day for people using non-smart energy meter to use £66 top-up voucher before it expires
People using a non-smart prepayment meter for gas or electricity must redeem the £66 October top-up voucher before the end of today or contact their supplier to request it to be reissued. The vouchers are part of the UK Government’s £400 Energy Bills Support Scheme , which is providing monthly discounts for 29 million households up until the end of March.
The UK Government confirmed last week that energy suppliers have an “obligation to make a minimum of three attempts by at least two different methods to contact customers who have not redeemed their voucher”. The UK Government is working with suppliers, consumer groups and charities to communicate the scheme and the importance of checking post, emails and text messages for the vouchers and taking action to redeem them.
