Leo Varadkar's party now trail Sinn Fein by 17 points, with 70% of people struggling to make ends meet

The poll, commissioned for the Sunday Business Post, has Leo Varadkar's party at just 18 percent - down one from the last poll in June.READ MORE: Garda probe into car fire deaths continue as post mortems on children completedThe Green Party and the Labour Party both moved up a point each to 5 percent and 4 percent respecitvely.

Other alarming findings from the poll include the fact that around 70% of voters are now struggling to make ends meet due to the cost of living. On Friday Tánaiste Leo Varadkar said this month’s budget will “significantly soften the blow” of the soaring cost of living as he suggested there may be a pay boost both before and after Christmas to cope with rising energy costs.
