Parent’s Benefit will increase to €289 a week from €274 from January 1 following a Budget 2025 decision.
Fine Gael will launch a new “Pay-Related Parent’s Benefit” to give parents higher payments linked to their earnings.

Sources said this would be done to “encourage” them to “spend valuable time with their newborn children”.
Pay-Related Benefit for working people who lose their jobs will come into effect at the end of March. People who lose their job will receive €450 for six months.
