Rossi, who fled his homeland to escape an array of alleged offences, claims he is actually a man called Arthur Knight
A forensic expert told a court the fingerprints of US rape suspect Nicholas Rossi taken in Scotland were “identical” to those held by authorities in America.
And the pair of police officers who arrested Rossi at Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital said his arms tattoos matched the wanted fugitive’s inkings. Rossi, who is accused of faking his own death in the US, was arrested at the hospital last December while receiving treatment for Covid-19.Rossi appeared in a wheelchair after being transported by prison van to court and continued to maintain he is Arthur Knight.
Dr Robert Hart, 36, an intensive care consultant who treated Rossi, also recognised the photos shown to him by police as patient ‘Arthur Knight’. Dr Hart told the hearing he informed police the tattoos on the patient and the wanted photos were a “match”. The officer added she saw the tattoo’s on the patient’s arms and recognised the “wing” design. Rossi was arrested, the court heard, and told the officers he’d “never been to America before” and was from Bristol.
