Six fire crews have been tackling a town centre fire involving the roof of a block of flats.

Crews from Oswestry, Ellesmere, Shrewsbury and Tweedale, attended, and used jets, breathing equipment and the aerial ladder platform to deal with the incident. The fire service also sent operations, fire investigation, safety and principal officers to the scene.The fire service said that all people had been accounted for and crews were still on site on Saturday, and were likely to remain at the scene for the rest of the day.
