Three fire crews attended the blaze

Firefighters were called to a Nottinghamshire home after a fire pit ignited a propane cylinder in the garden. Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to an outdoor fire in Foxhill Road, Carlton, at 9.47pm on Wednesday, May 24.

Three crews - from Arnold, London Road and West Bridgford - attended the blaze, using thermal imaging cameras and high-pressure hose reels to put it out before spreading to the house. Firefighters left the scene at 11.30pm. NFRS said the cause of the fire was determined to be accidental ignition of a propane cylinder from a fire pit. "At 9:47pm on Wednesday 24 May, fire crews were called to Foxhill Road, Carlton, to an outdoor fire," they said in a statement.

"Crews from Arnold, London Road and West Bridgford attended, using thermal imaging cameras, and high-pressure hose reels to extinguish the fire before it could spread from the property’s garden and damage the house. "The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental ignition of a propane cylinder from a fire pit. We left the scene around 11:30pm, after offering home safety checks to the surrounding properties."
