Mercy crews were scrambled to Blairgowrie last night
Four engines and a height appliance were sent to extinguish the flames while police cordoned off nearby roads.Police Scotland say that formal identification has yet to take place and that a joint investigation into the blaze remains ongoing.
A force spokesperson said: “Around 5pm on Thursday, police were called to the John Street area of Blairgowrie, following a report of a fire at a property. “The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, and the body of a person was found within. Formal identification is yet to take place.
